A cartoon from 1988 when I was a contributing editorial cartoonist with the Columbia-Missourian. This one dealt with the placement of a new city jail and the attendant political games.

There's a relatively well-known fair in St. Louis called the V.P. Fair, this was about the time Mike Dukakis and George Bush were about to announce their choices for vice president. I think you can connect the dots.
This one was pretty esoteric for many of the Missourians. I was a native Illinoisan and I had always wanted to draw Gov. Jim Thompson. I really don't understand why they never approached me to do the official portrait for the governor's mansion...
